2010 Darby Purple Haze $19.99

Ssshh! It’s a secret!

Mostly Cab and Malbec with a bit of Merlot, Cab Franc and Syrah, Darby doesn’t make much of this and it never lasts long. They treat it as an ‘underground wine’ and we were very pleased to score some this year. It’s full of forward purple fruit and a little mocha wrapped around a creamy mid-palate. Add that to a long, suave finish and it thinks it’s channeling Fabio. (We think it’s a little more masculine than that, but what do we know?) JS

The first of our monthly Saturday tastings with a goal of tasting 100 different grape varieties in less than one year was a huge success!  We tasted Mauzac, Aligote, Roditis, Mavrodaphne, Greco, Zweigelt, Frappato, Nero d'Avola, Petit Verdot, Monastrell and Chenin Blanc and are hard at work sourcing the next batch of fun grapes for you to taste.

We all know Cab, Syrah, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, etc., but the world holds so many more unsung and seldom seen grapes. Join us
in our quest to taste all the world of wine has to offer.

There’ll be wine and snacks and hey, it’s LWM –so it’ll be fun too!
